Let’s travel today to Mexico! Spanish dialogue at the end of the post!
The house and personal studio of architect Luis Barragán in Mexico City is located in a middle class neighborhood and doesn’t attract any special attention from the outside. 🏠
It is perhaps the least known of all UNESCO world heritage sites in Mexico, a title it won in 2004. When you visit and see it’s interior design combining vibrant colors (and other common features of traditional Mexican taste and architectural elements) with simplicity in
its wide open spaces you can understand why Barragan won the highest award in architecture, the Pritzker Prize in 1980. 🏆
Barragan’s style has influenced architects all over the world.

¿De dónde eres?
Soy de México, de la Ciudad de México. También es una ciudad muy bonita; pero es muy grande, es enorme.
Ya lo creo. ¿Cuántos días vas a pasar aquí?
Vengo por una semana. Voy a estar tres días en Budapest y los demás voy a visitar otros lugares del país. Quiero ver la naturaleza: la Puszta y el lago Balaton. También quiero ver el Parlamento, algunos museos y caminar al lado del río Danubio.
