Let’s stay in Slovenia!
Lipica is a town in Slovenia, near the Italian border, famous for its beautiful and sporty horses. The history of the Lipizzaner stud dates to 1580 and was the birthplace of the favorite horses of the Habsburg rulers for centuries. Lipizzaner horses are easily recognizable by their distinctive white color however foals are not born white but gray.
The storms of history did not spare the famous riding school either. In 1947, only 11 horses made up the Lipizzaner stud. Nowadays, these noble animals, which can even be seen in the stud farm, bask in their old glory again.
