Baháí Lotus Temple in Delhi.
Built in the outskirts of Delhi at the end of the 20th century, this temple is special thanks to its shape resembling a white lotus.
The Baháian religion or rather, movement, offers a place of solitude for meditation and people of all religion are welcome to visit. The Lotus Temple has several buildings, all of which feature spacious and breezy semi-enclosed interiors to ease the process of meditation.
Around the lotus’ nine petals, small ponds help keep the air cooler in the hot subtropic climate. ☀️
The lotus is a symbol of enlightenment in India and also their national flower.
Entrance to the hindi temple (also known as „mandír”) is done barefooted, and shoes are stowed away at racks so as not to disturb the atmosphere of the photos. 👣
Indeed, the church is a sight to behold and a great scenery for taking pictures.
